I Changed Outfits Three Times Today. And I’m Not Sorry.

The Sun Comes Out and Suddenly You Need a Whole New Wardrobe

The morning rush is real – But it doesn’t have to start like this.
9 April 2026

I’m going to be honest about something. The outfit I post in the morning is rarely the outfit I’m wearing when I go to bed. In fact, some days, it’s not even the outfit I’m wearing by lunchtime!

I started today in jeans, a white tee and moccasins. By mid-afternoon I’d changed into leggings and trainers to walk the dog. And honestly? I’ll probably change again before the day is finished. Not because I’m performing a series of carefully curated looks for anyone — but because that’s just how I live my life.

Instagram vs Reality?

Even though I know there’s nothing wrong with it, there’s a tiny voice that tells me I’m somehow being dishonest. Like the outfit I showed you all at 9am is the one I’m contractually obliged to wear until midnight. That changing feels like cheating – that I’m giving people a false impression of how I actually dress.

In an Ideal World?

My day doesn’t follow a neat, linear path from A to B. It jumps around. The gym first thing, so I’m in leggings and trainers. Then to Town – completely different outfit, different energy. Then home, where honestly the only thing that makes sense is comfort. Because why would I suffer in the name of consistency?!

That seamless, one-outfit day? It rarely on the cards for me.

And I think that’s true for a lot of people. Life isn’t one long scene – it’s loads of little ones, and what you wear in each of them doesn’t have to match.

Sometimes You Just Fancy a Change

Getting dressed isn’t a one-time decision you make at 7am and have to stick to for the next 16 hours. Life changes throughout the day, your mood changes, what you need from your clothes changes.

Nobody is keeping score. Nobody is checking whether my 9am look matches my 4pm dog walk. And there are only so many dressed vs styled you want to see in one day!
Dress for the moment you’re in. Change when you feel like it. Wear the leggings for the dog walk and the nice top for the evening and whatever else in between.

That’s not inconsistency. That’s just getting dressed like a real person.
